American Game Reviews is dedicated to covering the games that people are actually playing right now. From blockbuster AAA releases like Resident Evil: Requiem to breakout indie hits like Clair Obscur and Schedule I, our goal is simple: deliver clear and honest reviews that help players decide what’s worth their time and money.
We believe video games are one of the defining cultural mediums of our era - they bring people together, create shared experiences, and push the boundaries of storytelling, technology, and competition.
At American Game Reviews, we cut through the hype and the online chatter to get to the core of what makes a game good. Our focus is on what players actually care about: how a game runs, how fun it is, whether it does something interesting, and if it’s worth your time. Whether you’re deciding what to play next, trying to stay current with major releases, or just want a thoughtful take on a game you already enjoy, we aim to provide a fresh, honest perspective. We also feature indie game reviews, covering games across all platforms and genres because great experiences can come from anyone, anywhere.
The gaming landscape is changing fast, and we’re here to help you keep up.
We are a small North American game review site founded in 2026. What began as a simple idea, writing honest thoughts about the games we were already playing, quickly turned into something bigger. Like many players, we were frustrated by reviews that felt rushed, overly promotional, or focused too heavily on what critics were saying, with little thought to how the players actually feel.
We aimed to create a platform for authentic American game reviews that resonate with gamers, particularly those interested in indie game reviews. AGR continues to grow one review at a time, shaped by the same passion and curiosity that inspired us to create it.
Five of our recent favorites featured in our American Game Reviews include Clair Obscur, a stylish and atmospheric title that leans heavily into narrative and artistic expression; Resident Evil Requiem, a polished survival horror that continues Capcom’s strong run in the genre; and Mewgenics, a long-anticipated roguelike that stands out for its strange cat humor, deep tactical systems, and willingness to embrace insane levels of unpredictability.
Another standout in our indie game reviews is Black Myth: Wukong, an ambitious and visually striking action RPG built around challenging boss encounters. Finally, there is Schedule I, a hilariously fun indie game developed by an extremely small Australian team. Its open-ended systems and dark humor create a sandbox that players quickly turned into their own Breaking Bad story.
